The Mission
Meet Sandy and Chantelle Harms. The owners of Aurora Towing and Heavy Wrecking Ltd, a second generation family-owned business. Their company is located in the northern part of beautiful British Columbia. A town called Houston, set in the Bulkley Nechako area. Sandy has lived in Northern BC his entire life. While, Chantelle moved to Houston, BC from the lower mainland with her parents and siblings in 1996. They are both especially fond of the surrounding area. This is thanks to the many adventures it offers and the memories that they have acquired together while raising their family in the area.

This company was first established in 1996 by Chantelle’s parents, Dennis and Tracee Opdendries. In 2007 Sandy started working for his father in law, Dennis. Sandy quickly found a new passion for towing and recovery work. Particularly, the opportunity to provide a helpful and compassionate service to people in stressful situations. After a couple short years, WreckMasters training was obtained. This furthered their desire to provide towing and recovery services. When the opportunity to purchase the towing portion of the business presented itself, it became the goal to do so. All the while, continuing to provide a well established and reputable service.

In 2016 Sandy and Chantelle bought the towing and trucking side of the company. For five years they operated their business out of a shipping container on a rented property. Despite the many challenges, they pushed through with hard work and dedication. Finally, they were able to buy a commercial shop and property in January of 2021. Thereafter, 1279 Morice River Rd in Houston, BC became home to their company. A place to call their own.
Their family business continues to offer quality services in towing, recovery and a variety of transport capabilities. Sandy's 20 plus years of experience in working with heavy trucks and equipment gives their company the edge they need to stay competitive. Chantelle takes on administrative roles, marketing, and assists in shop projects. Additionally, their daughters play a part while showing more interest in the operations of the business. Working together, they make a good team.
After some time, they decided to start offering a wide range of quality used commercial truck parts. Having an extensive background in the trucking industry keeps them motivated to provide clients with options that are cost effective.
